How pure is your Hart of Green?

green-wreathDoes it seem like you don’t hear much positivity around you? Maybe it’s the internet and all the commenting you see all over the web that amplifies our perception of the volume of negativity. If I do hear something I presume is negative and there’s logic in the complaint from someone wanting to polute my air, I listen. Hey, I might learn a thing from someone that’s passionate.

For example, this green blog excited me to hear about this new show that aired last night! Earth 2100. I missed it, not intentionally, just didn’t know about it.

After getting stoked over when I can catch a re-run, I spotted a comment on that blog I just mentioned, and it seemed loaded with angst that actually triggered a belly laugh out of me.

Olga Zeleniak
When will you learn….back in the 70’s all sorts of negative documentaries described food shortages, over population, the end of the world….can’t you ever see the positive side of life and life will prevail….how can you show such nonsence. No one can predict the future….never mind a bunch of journalists looking for ratings…..Give me a break?…I am 57 years old and fed up with your so called documentaries of the future…..Who knows?…Stop using the scare tactic!

What do you think? I’m kind of the new guy here to green. I know she didn’t use spell check. I like this line though.

Can’t you ever see the positive side of life and life will prevail…

Now, that’s the Olga we all know and love! [no, I don't know Olga] Seriously, no matter what you think of green, keeping the optimism alive is healthy isn’t it?

I’m really starting to notice a huge delta between the right and the left of the green arena. I also appreciate a solid argument if someone does want to graffiti a blog with thier opinion. I can remember my best shows on the radio as a morning host was when both sides chimed in and constructively blasted the other sides agenda. It’s fun, as long as people are nice even if I do think you’re an ice cube on heels or maybe uptight. We all might ask ourselves in these challenging self introspective days we live in, are we coming from a pure heart intention? If my ego or attitude gets angry at anything related to green, I usually know that getting emotional is not going to serve me.

  1. Is there really ever a reason to not be nice? I don’t think so.
  2. Is there really ever a reason to not stand up for your morals, values and beliefs? No, but you can be nice about it without having to put on your not so sincere ”Fantasy Island” smile, “The guests have arrived”, smile.

Here’s the trailer for Earth 2100.

Summary of the show
It’s an idea that most of us would rather not face — that within the next century, life as we know it could come to an end. Our civilization could crumble, leaving only traces of modern human existence behind.  It seems outlandish, extreme — even impossible. But according to cutting edge scientific research, it is a very real possibility. And unless we make drastic changes now, it could very well happen.

Experts have a stark warning: that unless we change course, the “perfect storm” of population growth, dwindling resources and climate change has the potential to converge in the next century with catastrophic results.

Good stuff in here, and thought-provoking. But I’d be a little careful about teasing someone for not using a spell checker when you aren’t using one.

Marty, I really appreciate your comment. I hear you with my spell checking. In other words, don’t throw rocks from a glass house. Perfect.
Tell me how I can support you too…
