When I think Green, I think awareness and humility
When I think Green, I think awareness. More awareness breeds more humility and gratitude. Agree?
Dogs do seem to be so aware, I’m surprised we don’t listen to their direction more often.
Blind dogs (a dog that helps blind people, not literally a “blind dog”) have absolutely blown me away. Seriously. Up until yesterday, I thought of blind dogs as a terrific helper for the blind, and that was about it.
Watch this 3 minute video and get an entirely new perspective on how green and aware blind dogs can be.
If you don’t have time right now to do the 3 minute video from ABC News, here’s the short of it.
Blind dogs are taught to ignore their own instinct. Just when they want to chase a squirrel they remember how much more fun it is to lead their master into safety.
For example, at a busy street corner, the blind master will tell the dog to go. The right of refusal comes from the dog.
I just love that a dog can be so aware and green all to protect you from walking in front of a bus. Is it just me, or do you find this to be a staggering amount of responsibility to lead a human across a busy San Francisco street and have the instinct to spot all cars, all moving objects that might otherwise kill them both? Wow.

So powerful to hear the message about blind dogs (dogs who lead the blind) resisting the urge to cross a busy street when their owner says so.
Such a discipline that we’d be so very wise to take time to adopt for ourselves.
Who’s our blind owner that we can discipline ourselves to protect?
