Going the the gym every couple days now is a ritual.
Ordering meat off any menu five times a week is also a ritual.
To change a ritual it usually takes a deep rooted conviction and in this case, one in which the planet could use our help. I heard that cows fart excessively and destroy ozone. I heard those facts a while back and it was staggering. Also, that colon scare I had last year is enough of a wake up call to cut back on beef.
New discipline in my Green Covenant to me. Eat meat only 4 times a week. Ouch! I need help.
Lets look at Carls Jr. for inspiration so we can both set green ‘eat better’ and ‘lower methane gas” goals this week that we feel really good about.

Of all the gut-growing, heart-stopping, life-threatening burgers in the fast food world, there is none whose damage to your general well-being is as catastrophic as this. Consider these heart-stopping comparisons: This meal has the caloric equivalent of 13 Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Donuts; the saturated fat equivalent of 52 strips of bacon; and the salt equivalent of seven and a half large orders of McDonald’s fries!

Since I had fajitas at Chili’s for lunch, that next piece of meat is sure elusive right about now…
My word is iron and I’m excited about this conscious new goal I will achieve.

“Green eating.” Beyond the occasional garden salad, how many people think of the global green perspective in their food choices? Not many.
Aside from the impact of cows and methane gas, what is the overall ungreen effect of unhealthy food and other life choices? If we’re leading ourselves down a path toward debilitating chronic diseases, what kind of drain on global resources are we destined to become?
