My name is Jerry D. Hart. I live in Concord, CA with my sweet companion, King Kahluah, a 55 pound 12 year old Shepard, Doberman mix. The attention I command of his time is unreal.
I am Green as of today, 5.5.2009 on my birthday turning 42 and turning Green by choice.
The choice is mine to respect planet earth and hold myself accountable to doing my part of giving back. Even my social media blog that provides helpful information to anyone wanting to learn social media has been such an inspiration by means of self expression. We humans sure have an unquenchable thirst for knowing we “belong to something”. Think about it, do you value the ‘belonging’ you have with your family members? When you assess that connection to those you love and cherish that you are loved for who you are by your family, your sense of belonging becomes even more special.
Quick tour of my life included two decades on the air as a radio personality in major markets including my hometown, San Francisco. In this previous life I worked for ego maniac executives and discovered what life was like as an artist on the road across America. I met all kinds of big celebrities, turned down hundreds of bribes by record label executives and artists to play records preferentially on the radio. Everything you’ve heard about the entertainment business is true, especially the part about it being ‘cut throat’. The good news is I still pinch myself over how much I got paid to simply talk into a microphone everyday.
I grew up in Rohnert Park and knew as a little boy that I was destined to be a messenger of inspiration on the radio. With my famous family behind me, the “Grateful Dead” how could I not leverage all the talent of my late father, manager of the band and my brother, Mickey Hart, the drummer.
My parents raised me Christian, and I grew up believing that the Pentecostal Church
had all of the guiding principles for my life. Only some of the principles remain part of my daily life and new principles were born when I almost died late last year.. Immediately after facing colon cancer last year, the terror of dying became catalysts to measure, at any moment if I’m coming from my heart and revealing my authentic true self where the ones I love always come first before my materialistic needs. It works! I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. Even if I do have a moment where I feel out of balance I turn to quotes like Winston Churchill and reflect on how grateful I am for all I have and don’t have.
“Success is going from one failure to the next without losing enthusiasm”
I started this website on my birthday as a major marker in my life that I live on purpose, my word is iron and I truly am doing what I came here to do on this earth at this time. We all know why we love our hobby, because it takes us away to that special place where we get very present with our destiny. Hart of Green is that special place where I can be me and share quirks, questions, and queries about anything Green. Maybe I’ll even sprinkle in social media news and stories that are all about socializing; community and collaborating as one race, with no color lines inspiring you to pay it forward and be deliberate with every breath you take
This website will chronicle my green life from a “I could care less about being Green” to
a “This planet is mine too and I seriously understand my abusing earth is bad karma”. Yes, the Karma police will pull you over eventually if you continue to trash the very ground you walk on and discount the discussion of energy as some type of mental masturbation. I’m here starting “Hart of Green” not because I’m good at helping companies use the internet to find new customers and keep the ones that spend money, rather here to build relationship with you. I have the proof of what that is like to live in that radically transparent virtual place. Imagine how intimate the relationship was between my radio audience and my lips touching that microphone. They would walk up to me and tell me I was part of their family, woke up in bed with them, took showers, witnessed family arguments I never heard. My audience was not just a distant community, they had my back and would jump in front of a bullet for me and me for them. Two cities that I married was Fresno and San Francisco, and my next is this city your sitting here reading right now. The city is “The World” and what you feel about us, you and me is something I cherish. Are you feeling me here? The honor I feel that you’ve even read this far is at such a soul level, not that fake Janet Jackson level. No slam on Janet, although that last Larry King interview, I just kept thinking…”Janet, are you in there..hello..Janet, anyone home?”
In December 2001, I began my marketing agency and after 8 years, lots of hard work, ah, let me say that again, work without fulfillment. Jobs that we define as work is only satisfying. Dreams we define as part of our daily life is fulfilling. Wow, it feels good to be here with you right now, in this moment, beginning what will be a relationship of appreciation for WHO WE ARE and HOW GREEN WE ARE.
So lets get this party started, no, not that party, that’s the other blog about how to distrust organized religion.
